EFG Engineers celebrates a decade of excellence!

EFG Engineers celebrated their 10th birthday with friends and clients at Eensgezind on 1 September 2010. The guest speaker, well-known Mr Michael Louis from the Louis Group, gave an inspiring talk on how the current state of South Africa could be improved and the Zamar music group had the guests well entertained. The master of ceremonies, Mr Charl Gouws, gave founding member Mr Eric Foster an opportunity to reflect on the growth of EFG from the initial start-up stages to carrying out large public appointments (e.g. Trunk Road 2/Main Road 168) as well as serving the private sector at an extensive level (e.g. Burgundy Estate). Thanks to the brilliant organisation of Advents Communications, who organised the function, the festivities carried on till late into the night. It was an evening to remember for many more years to come.

In the spirit of celebrating EFG 10th year of existence, Mr Frans Groenewald of Vespaghetti was commissioned to design an original artwork for the company. The brief for the design was to showcase EFG's field of expertise in a decorative and entertaining manner. The outcome was very successful and is proudly displayed at the EFG office in Durbanville.

Current projects include:

• Rehabilitation and upgrading of Trunk Road 2 / Main Road 168 between the N2 and Main Road 177 (13 km);
• Design of higher order access roads for the Buhrein Estate Residential Development in Kraaifontein (4,4 km);
• Traffic Studies and Design of external road improvements for 3 residential developments in Blue Downs;
• Traffic studies for major commercial developments in Strand, Bellville and Hermanus;
• Roads for Hermanus Shopping Centre (Shoprite Checkers Properties);
• Road improvements for Kingsbury Hospital;
• Roads and services for Baronetcy Service Station; and

In February 2011 EFG supported the Grootbos Foundation by making a donation to the Green Futures project. The donation will be utilised for enterprise and socio economic development.
